Eve was deceived by the Serpent in the garden of Eden.
1 Timothy 2:14
[14]And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
The reason behind the fall of man was deception in the garden. To worship God in truth means we must take God’s word as it is. The written word of God is the original seed. The incorruptible seed that produces the sons and daughters of God. But when we mix the word with our own feelings and thoughts and try to make it be a little sensible we are inviting the serpents doctrine in our beliefs, our faith, and that false doctrine cannot bring life into the believer because God is the word.
John 1:1
[1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The word of God is perfect and it is by that very word that we will be judged
Revelation 19:13
[13]And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
So to worship God in truth is to believe in the truth revealed in the scriptures.
Romans 3:4
[4]God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Man’s way of thinking is not God’s way of thinking (Isaiah 55:8). In order to worship in truth, we must know the truth, which is found in the Bible. We must continually renew our minds to the Word of God by spending time studying every day (Romans 12:2). When our minds are renewed to what He says is truth (and not the world), we will be able to come to Him and worship Him in truth.
Worshipping in Spirit.
Worship does not only mean singing,it is a full life response to the object of our worship.we understand that we have a physical body that has five senses, sight,smell,touch,sound and touch. The physical senses contact the physical realm. We also have a Spiritual body (I Corinthians chapter 15:44 there is a natural body and a Spiritual body.)
But then when man was put in human flesh, then God gave him five senses to contact his earthly home. These things, the senses of the body, are only used to contact earthly things here on earth, not heavenly things.
And then your inward man is the spirit which is used to contact God. Remember Faith and doubt is on the soul which is in the Spirit. The soul controls the spirit. The spirit controls the body.
The Spiritual body has senses like memory, thoughts,imagination, reason, conscience, and affection.
God in most cases communicates to us through the Spiritual realm.
Job 33:14-15
[14]For God speaks again and again,
though people do not recognize it.
[15]He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night,
when deep sleep falls on people
as they lie in their beds.
Joel 2:28
[28]“Then, after doing all those things,
I will pour out my Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams,
and your young men will see visions.
So from the above verses we understand that God communicates to people through dreams and visions and that is in the Spiritual realm. Most people ignore because they don’t understand. Not all dreams though are from God,but they are from the spiritual realm.
God communicates to us through our thoughts.
Now the key word is in spirit and in truth.
Because even Satan can place bad thoughts in our minds, they may seem good ,Satan did so with Peter.
So God commands us to control our every thought,if you don’t control your mind Satan will.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
[3]For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
[4](For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
[5]Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Genesis 24:63
[63]And Isaac went out to MEDITATE in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.
Joshua 1:8
[8]This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt MEDITATE therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Isaac used to meditate, you take time and think about the word of God concerning whatever is troubling you at the moment, then God will surely speak to you in the spirit in a still voice, in the spirit, most times he speaks to people in the spirit but people doubt because people want to listen to God’s voice audibly like Samuel did,yes there are people who have heard God’s voice in that manner,but not everyday. So we must learn to speak and listen to God in the spirit. You can also speak to him in the spirit, you can pray in your mind when you’re in a public place, you can sing in your mind,you can thank God in your mind and listen in the spirit.
One must learn how to discern the thoughts if they’re from God or from the devil. If the thoughts are contrary to God’s word cast them down and bring them to the submission of the Word of God.
Remember,when God tells you something ,you can have a journal and use that to record the voice within. Just keep recording daily as you meditate
God’s voice is like spontaneous thoughts when your eyes are fixed on Jesus. When you keep practicing to meditate and listen to God in your mind and write the thoughts down, you will draw closer and closer with God in the spirit. Meditate upon the word like Isaac Joshua and even David.

I once was planning a trip to Costa Rica, a place I had been before, and was excited to be returning to. Yet, as I prayed about it, I lost my desire to go. Instead, I actually felt dread about going. The first thing I did when that happened was make sure I was really seeking the Lord with my whole heart. I canceled the trip.
When the people of Costa Rica asked why, all I could tell them was I didn’t want to go. That was hard to do, and I’m not sure they understood. The plane I had booked my flight on crashed on take-off from Mexico City, killing all 169 persons onboard. The Lord warned me of that and saved my life, not by saying, “Don’t go to Costa Rica,” but, by communicating to my spirit and taking away my desire to go. That is the dominant way the Lord speaks to us, and we often miss that kind of communication.
1 Thessalonians 5:23
[23]And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole SPIRIT and SOUL and BODY be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remember,your Spirit ,Soul and body must be preserved BLAMELESS. So guard your thoughts, verify whether what you believe in is truly scriptural and pray that God may guide you into the way of righteousness and holiness. It begins from within you. You must first believe in the truth, then your spirit will be controlled by the truth that you believe in, and your body,your actions will be determined by the state of your spirit.
You need the Holy Spirit to guide and direct you into all truth. To activate your spirit and to connect you with the heavenly Father.
